Strategic Partners

The Zambia Business In Development Facility (ZBIDF) is one of the Business Partnership Action hubs initiated by TPI.  These locally country-level platforms systematically bring together government, business, donors, the UN and NGOs to demonstrate the alignment of interests, facilitate innovation and directly support ‘win-win’ partnerships between companies, international agencies, government and NGO to achieve sustainable development priorities. The development process of the hub in Zambia is managed by the African Management Services Company (AMSCO) with support from Sida and the Embassy of Sweden.

African Management Services Company (AMSCO)

The African Management Services Company (AMSCO) is a special purpose company set up jointly by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) which is the private sector arm of the World Bank, to serve as the operational unit of UNDP’s African Training & Management Services (ATMS) Project. AMSCO is incorporated in The Netherlands. AMSCO’s mandate is to help African enterprises become globally competitive, profitable and sustainable.
AMSCO’s mandate is to help African enterprises become globally competitive, profitable and sustainable. We seek to achieve this objective by providing professional management and capacity building services to selected African businesses, particulary small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The ATMS project has through AMSCO’s interventions demonstrated great potential in this area, contributing to improved accountability, poverty reduction in all its dimensions and capacity development in Africa. All these are key essentials for inclusive growth and achieving the Millenium Development Goals by 2015.
